LIFTY

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 7 October 2026

The short version. Lifty stores your workouts on your device and syncs them to your own private iCloud account. That data is not sent to us and we cannot see it. We do not use analytics or advertising, we do not sell data, and Lifty has no user accounts or logins. The only information that reaches a third party is what is needed to process a subscription, plus a routine request for a service notice from our website host (see section 4).

1. Who this policy covers

This policy explains how the Lifty iPhone app ("Lifty", "the app") handles your information. Lifty is developed by Alexander Kvam ("we", "us"). It applies to the app only, not to any website or service we do not operate.

2. What Lifty stores, and where it goes

InformationWhere it is storedCan we see it?
Workouts, exercises, sets, reps, weights, notes, interval sessions On your device, and synced to your private iCloud account No
Photos you attach to a workout or exercise On your device, and synced to your private iCloud account No
Workout location (coordinates and a place name) On your device, and synced to your private iCloud account No
Subscription and purchase status Apple and our payments provider, RevenueCat Yes, in anonymous form

Lifty's iCloud sync uses Apple's private CloudKit database. This means your workout data is stored inside your own iCloud account, under your Apple ID. We have no access to it, no ability to read it, and no copy of it on any server we control. If you disable iCloud for Lifty, your data simply stays on your device.

3. Permissions Lifty asks for

All three are optional. Lifty's core workout tracking works if you decline every one of them.

Location

If you allow it, Lifty reads your location while you are using the app so it can label a workout with the place you did it. The coordinates are sent to Apple's geocoding service to turn them into a readable place name, which is then saved with the workout. Lifty requests only approximate accuracy and does not track your location in the background.

Camera and photo library

If you allow it, Lifty can attach photos to a workout or exercise, so you can record things like machine settings or progress pictures. Photos you choose are stored with that workout and synced to your private iCloud. Lifty does not scan your photo library or upload photos anywhere else.

4. Third-party services

Apple

Apple provides iCloud sync, the geocoding used for workout place names, and subscription billing through the App Store. Apple's handling of that data is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

RevenueCat

Lifty uses RevenueCat to manage subscriptions. When you subscribe, restore a purchase, or when the app checks whether your subscription is active, RevenueCat receives a randomly generated anonymous identifier along with basic device and purchase information. This identifier is not linked to your name, email, or Apple ID, and it is not used to track you across other apps or websites. See RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.

Cloudflare

When Lifty opens, it fetches a small notice file (used for occasional service messages, such as planned sync downtime) from our website, which is hosted by Cloudflare. As with loading any web address, Cloudflare's servers receive your device's IP address as part of that request. This is a one-way download: Lifty only reads the notice, and sends nothing about you, your workouts or your subscription back to us. We do not use the request to identify you, and we receive no report that a notice was shown or dismissed. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.

5. What Lifty does not do

6. Keeping and deleting your data

Your workout data stays until you remove it. You are in control of all of it:

Because subscription records are held by Apple and RevenueCat for billing and accounting, those are kept under their own retention policies and are not removed by deleting the app. You can manage or cancel a subscription in iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete personal information we hold about you. In Lifty's case, your workout data already sits in your own iCloud account and on your own device, so you can exercise all of those directly using the steps in section 6. If you would like help, or want to ask about the anonymous purchase data held by our payments provider, contact us using the details below.

8. Children

Lifty is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will address it.

9. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a way that affects how your information is handled, we will update this page and change the "Last updated" date above. Significant changes may also be announced inside the app.
